Messi and Ronaldo‘s status as two of the best players in the history of the sport has led to many debating who is the more complete player.
“I didn’t get enough time with him, he was very young. I’d love to take to the pitch with him one more time.
“He’s the best in history, no doubt. Nobody has done what Messi’s done. The other one [Ronaldo] is complete, he has it all.
“So does Messi, but it’s a question of taste and I prefer Messi’s style.”
Ronaldo, 43, praised five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano and said that he is “out of this world” like Messi.
But the two-time World Cup winner, who has defended Cristiano in the ‘real Ronaldo debate,’ believes that Messi is a more complete player.
“He [Messi] is out of this world. Cristiano, too, but I see Leo as more complete,” Ronaldo said.
“He’s great. I like him much more than any other player. Everything he does is spectacular.”
Football icon David Beckham has also weighed in on the Messi-Ronaldo debate and argued the Juve superstar “doesn’t reach the level” as his fierce rival.
“I probably decided to retire when Messi was running past me,” Beckham admitted.
