Werner has agreed to a move to Chelsea this summer and will be making his Premier League debut for the Blues next season after a prolific four seasons in Germany.

Hasenhuttl signed Werner in his first season at RB Leipzig and the striker has gone on to score 92 goals in 155 games for the club, earning his switch to the Premier League.

The Austrian manager is already in England, having taken charge of Southampton in December 2018 and says that English football will suit his former star striker.

However, he has offered some advice to Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, that Werner may benefit from an arm around the shoulder at times. ‘

Football is very intense and fast [in England]. That, in turn, suits Timo: with his speed, he’s a brutal weapon in the right team,’

‘Give him a bit of space and it’s hard to stop him. He has so many qualities that will always put him above others.’ After enjoying a successful spell together, this is not the first time the Saints boss has praised Werner, telling beIN Sport earlier this month that Werner was good enough to play for any club in Europe.

‘I had the honor to work with him for two years, it was a fantastic time especially the first year he had a fantastic season I think he scored 24 goals in the season for me,’ said the Austrian. ‘He’s so hard to stop because he’s so quick with a very good finish. These are the strengths that everyone knows.

‘I think also now he is developing his qualities with his back to the goal and playing football with the team.” ‘I think he has made his next step in his development and becoming more and more complete and very good football player and I think he’s absolutely a strength for any team in Europe.’
