Reported Chelsea target Kai Havertz has dropped a hint that he could join the Blues this summer.

Havertz has enjoyed a tremendous season at Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and he’s attracted reported interest from Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

The German playmaker has caused Blues fans to go into a mini-meltdown after liking a tweet directed to Chelsea’s official account, saying: “Announce Havertz”.

If Havertz did sign for Frank Lampard’s side, he would be joining his countryman Timo Werner, who was confirmed as a Blue on Thursday.

Rodgers sends Blues message over Chilwell

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers says the club is “relaxed” over the Ben Chilwell transfer saga. Chelsea are reportedly interested in the Foxes left-back, but his £80m price-tag could prove a problem for the Blues.

Rodgers is relaxed about the situation, though: “He’s come back refreshed and in everything he’s done he’s looked exceptional.

“We’re relaxed on it. It’s a sequence the club is used to now, and when you have a talented group of players they’re going to make the headlines. But I’m pretty relaxed on it.”

2020 transfer window update

UEFA has suggested for its member associations to all close the summer transfer window on October 5.

The UEFA Executive Committee spoke on Thursday via video conference to decide on the closing date for the window that will be extended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

For Chelsea, the transfer window has not officially opened yet, despite the Werner signing, with the delay in the season’s conclusion after football was stopped for three months.

“The deadline for player registration for the group stage of the 2020/21 UEFA club competitions has been set to 6 October 2020,” a UEFA statement read.

“As a result, the UEFA Executive Committee called on all member associations to adopt a harmonized end date to the upcoming summer transfer window, with the date set as 5 October 2020.”
